MISSION // Meals for Unity (M4U for short) started as a small initiative and is looking to expand rapidly in the coming months, serving 300 meals monthly to vulnerable communities. Above is the original logo and the final logo. Below is the process for the creation of the logo.

SAMPLES
CONCEPT // M4U is a nonprofit that tackles food insecurity for vulnerable communities. The team requested a clean, simple logo that emphasizes the unity and the food aspects of the mission. The team liked the muted red used in the original logo but gave creative discretion on the official color scheme. On the left are the initial logos sent as samples and options.
COLOR SCHEME // I kept the muted red but included other pastel shades to keep the logo light and simple.

FONTS // Given the simplicity for the font, I chose sans serif because it gave a more welcoming feel.
NEW ITERATIONS
After the initial samples, the team liked the vibrant colors on the bottom sample as well as the idea of the hands in the top sample. They also liked the font choices so I created the new iterations with different illustrations but the same fonts. They also surprisingly liked the smiley face, adding a friendlier touch.

FINAL LOGO
For the final design, the team brought back the idea of the second initial sample as well as the third option from the new iterations as their favorites. They also wanted a new rendition of the hands to be in between the cartoonish ones in the first one and the slimmer ones in the new iterations. They decided on Cocogoose for the font. With a close tie on votes, we decided to combine the two logos and use the illustration from the new iteration to create the final logo.
